Hey BOXsters …
So for those that follow me on Twitter, Facebook and elsewhere, I”m sure you’ve heard me lament this week that my 11 year old is away for the Summer … away from me … for the first time.
I never expected that my husband and I would be “empty-nesters” at this very early age (ours, not hers!), but it sure does feel like it as I allow my eyes to waft across the half-empty closet, missing stuffed animals; and, entire rows of books gone from her shelves.
Likely, the fact that we’ll be moving from our mountain home to our “forever farmhouse” in Upstate New York while she’s away, is only adding to that empty sense, as well.
So, this experience has left me wondering: what I”m going to do when she’s seventeen and leaving us for college?
While still a couple of months down the road for you parents that have graduating offspring this month, and though not exactly “entertainment”-related, I thought I’d put it to you parents to write me and comment on your feelings about the matter.
Hey, some advice for me for a change wouldn’t hurt either!
Here is a wonderful article that was published a few years ago on just this thing …
After this bit of self-indulgence, back to the stuff in life that really matters here on theBOX: FOOD, FASHION and FUN!!
In any case, enjoy your Summer, BOXsters – I do hope you’ll be spending your travel and leisure time, with us.
